Eva Garcia is one of the three women that make up the Boyle Heights Community Documentarian Team for ACTA’s Sounds of California initiative. Eva Garcia is an active leader in the Boyle Heights and East Los Angeles organization, Fideicomiso Comunitario Tierra Libre and other organizing spaces such as the Invest in Youth Coalition, that puts pressure on the City of Los Angeles to invest in youth development. In this interview, Eva shares some of her family's history, and how the relationship she had with her late father motivated her to be an active member and advocate in fighting for her community.
