Jeannette Fisher-Kouadio shares vivid recollections of the Bayview and the opportunities afforded her as a gifted student. Having earned a real estate license and a law degree, she strives to preserve generational wealth by helping seniors protect their life savings. Jeannette’s legal career has taken her to Côte d'Ivoire, expanding her practice to immigration and international law. Her passion to take action and invest in her community has been influenced by her vast extended family, including her grandfather, who served as a deacon at the Double Rock Baptist Church in Bayview.
Recorded on May 12, 2018. Filmed by Tumani Onabiyi. Interview by Tumani Onabiyi and Lily Kharrazi.
“The soul of this community is… music, people, art; everyone says ‘Good morning, how are you?’”
“In Côte d'Ivoire, one person taught me, no matter how successful you are, you always go back to your village to do something for your village… I want people to think of Bayview as their village—all the people that are coming—and I want them to invest in this place.”
