Lilia Acosta is a local community leader in Los Angeles who immigrated to Boyle Heights from Tijuana, Mexico 25 years ago. During her interview with Margarita Gonzalez, Lilia talks about the hardships of adapting to a new country and how her involvement in community service expanded the connection she has to Boyle Heights and allowed her to develop a stronger awareness of the current needs of her local neighborhood.
