"Black Lives Matter" Car Protest
"Black Lives Matter" social distance car protest that takes place on East 1st Street in Boyle Heights after the murder of George Floyd.
From Eva Garcia: The Black Lives Matter car action was an event where the community came together to say "no more discrimination." The community comes together and looks for a way to support, this time doing it by car due to the pandemic situation. All of us who participated did so based on our respect for humanity. Color or race does not matter. I started recording on 1st and State Streets and the action surrounded Mariachi Plaza. There were many cars, even some classic cars. There were also people with signs walking around. People in their cars showed solidarity by honking their horns, decorating their vehicles with protest posters, and driving in a consecutive line of cars that stretched for many blocks.
